Gunpla/Gundam Replacement Parts - By GGInfinite.com

GGInfinite.com is offering Replacement Parts and I just want to share my experience to their service.
This is pretty much like ordering replacement parts from the manual of a Gunpla kit, and we all know that service is only available for Japan. But with GGInfinite.com , they accept replacement part orders from most countries. They can also accept multiple parts from different kits in one order. For payment, they only accept Paypal.

Now for the downside, I placed my order back in mid December and it took about over two months until I received my parts. It says on their website that that It might take about 3-4 weeks, but it sure did took longer than that. Also, if you do a follow-up email, they respond within the next 3 to 4 days.

So after spamming them with follow-up emails and waiting. The parts arrived at the local Post Office and picked it up. And here we have...

The packaging was alright, the parts are separated from plastic to plastic. Also they are wrapped in bubble wrap.

So there you have it, I recommend to all who needs replacement parts to try this service. it might be faster or slower on the time you receive the parts. My take on this is that if you request parts from multiple different kits in one order I believe that this could be the reason of the delay until you receive your parts.

So If you really need replacement parts and you don't know how kit bash or re-cast, unable to fix or find that part, and willing to wait with a lot of patience, then take advantage of this service

Of course I'd like to give thanks to GGInfinite.com for this awesome service. Keep it up guys!

KEIKO Action Base 1 Review

Got interested on this new KEIKO Action Base 1. Since I needed action bases for my Master Grades, I went ahead bought all four unique colors: Clear Green, Clear Black, Clear Red, and plain Clear.

On this review, I'll be doing the Clear Red.
Packaging is just like the Original Action Base 1. Nothing special here.

Out of the package, there are three things I noticed, the sprues is on another plastic package, a pair of nail file and a set of decals.

Yes, a pair of nail file. there's also a piece of paper that will show you on where you're going to use the nail file.

To my surprise, we got decent looking waterslide decals. Numbers and letters here and there. I'll be using some of these and see how they work.

Loving the color here. Smooth and sparkly.

Here's the finish product. And I gotta say, it's really looking good. The clear color is really bright and it really shines. I manage to put some decals, there is no instructions on where to put them so you put them anywhere you want.

COMPARISON
The one is in Left is Bandai, which of course is clearer than Keiko.

Right one is Bandai, which has a darker tone oppose to the Keiko one.

PROBLEMS
There 2 problems with this display base. one on the top joint and middle connector.
The top joint is very loose, even if I tightened the screw but it didn't seem to help. A little shake will make your kit fall into its feet. But spray a little clear top coat and BOOM! issue resolved.

This one is also loose. no need to fix because it will just connect to the center of the primary leg. as long it can hold the weight, then there's nothing to worry about.

VERDICT:
PROS:
- 4 unique colors
- plastic quality is OK
- cheaper than the original
- Decals ( a nice bonus!)
- a pair of Nail File

CONS:
- loose top and center joint
- need to sand excess plastic

So there you have it. Not much for cons since it just a knock off of Bandai's Action Base 1. Bandai, of course, has variety of Action bases from shapes to colors. But if you want clear colored Action bases (especially Red and Black) or a cheaper alternative, then I recommend getting this.

Custom - Tajadol Gundam?

Being a Gundam and Kamen Rider fan...this is one outstanding custom.

Meet the Tajadol/Tajador/Tajadoru/Peacock Gundam.
MODELER: ???

BEST POSE

I can't find anywhere on who is the modeler of this bad boy. It seems that he used plastic plates. If given the chance, I'd like to make one like this.

What do you do with your Gunpla Boxes?

We all know that with those good looking Boxes that we get, it's hard to just throw them away.
So instead to just stack those empty boxes on the corner, why not put them on the wall? All you need is a double sided tape.

...and they can also serve as storage at the same time :)

Gunpla - Painting Gundam eyes

Here is a short tutorial on How to paint the Eyes on a Gundam kit.

Video demonstrated by JunoUnit

So after watching this, I went ahead and gave it a try.

Went ahead and tried it first on the Gundam face on Seraphim Gundams chest for practice. I used are Sharpie Markers, silver over green for the shiny effect. Then I used the black 0.05 Copic Marker. Almost close just like the one on the video. I'll try again next time when I get a 1/144 kit.

IMO, doing this gives the Gundam Eyes more detail that just using the foil stickers. It's hard at first, but the final product is very rewarding!
